KATHMANDU: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has provided Rs 25 million for the rescue and relief of people affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers in Rasuwa on Bhadra 10.

The contribution was deposited into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund under the EPF’s corporate social responsibility initiative.

At a programme held at the Ministry of Finance, EPF Board Chair Bhupal Baral, Administrator Vijay Kumar Shrestha, and senior officials handed over the Rs 25 million cheque to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle. Wagle thanked the EPF for its support during the disaster.

Chair Baral said the EPF has been providing financial assistance during national crises—including natural disasters, major earthquakes, and pandemics—as part of its corporate social responsibility. The latest contribution is part of that continued commitment to support flood-affected communities.

Administrator Shrestha stressed the need for collective support and coordination for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of affected people. He said the EPF would continue providing necessary assistance and cooperation during disasters and other national emergencies.

The EPF expressed condolences to those who lost their lives in the floods and landslides and extended sympathy to bereaved families. It also called for continued cooperation from all concerned parties to ensure the swift rescue, relief and rehabilitation of flood-affected people.
